India is the best agricultural producer and exporter of Agricultural Products. The government of India established the APEDA (Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority) in 1985, formed through an act to develop and promote the export of scheduled products that comes under Agricultural & Processed Food categories. Any business entity or an individual that wants to export such goods is required to get the Registration Cum Membership Certificate (RCMC) from APEDA as it is mandatory. They provide the guidelines, standards, requisite information related to specifications, and assistance concerning the exports of scheduled products.

The products identified as per the APEDA ACT are termed schedule products and it is mandatory to register under APEDA for all exporters dealing with scheduled products. Fruits, Vegetables, Meat, Poultry products, dairy products, confectionery, biscuits, bakery products, sugar & honey products, cocoa products, chocolates, floriculture products, pickles, chutneys, and many other come under scheduled products category.

Procedure For APEDA Registration involves the following steps:

Register as a Member

Fill the online application form with all required details such as Import-Export Code, Email Address and Mobile Number. Verify with OTP.

Submit the Relevant Details

Upload the required documents. Only JPEG, PNG, or PDF formats are allowed.

Issuance of RCMC

After filing the application, once APEDA registration is completed APEDA License is issued. .

Grant of APEDA Certificate

Once you get the RCMC approval, you can download the Certificate from the APEDA portal under RCMC Menu by clicking the tab of "View RCMC Certificate".

Online Fee Payment

You can make the online payment of fees via Credit Card (MasterCard or Visa) or Debit Card (MasterCard or Visa) or offline through demand draft in favor of APEDA, is payable at respective cities.

List of Documents required for APEDA is:

  • Id proof of the applicant or business entity.
  • Address Proof of registered office including head office and branch office if any.
  • Copy of IEC (Import Export Code), self-certified, that is issued by the DGFT (Director-General of Foreign Trade).
  • Bank certificate – as this shows the financial health of the applicant, duly signed by authorities.
  • Latest 2 months bank account statement of the firm of the bank account.
  • Canceled cheque.
  • Certified copy of partnership deed (in case of partnership firm) or MOA (in case of a company) or trust deed/Memorandum of Rules & regulations (in case of trust/society).
  • Details of any other registration with other Export Promotion Council/Commodity Board.
  • Copy of the license issued by any other sponsoring authority such as DGTD, State Director of Industries, etc.

Registration Cum Membership certification is a membership certificate issued by Export promotional councils or the commodity board of India. Any specific exporter is registered with the council under this certificate.e
